Dillington House dates back to the sixteenth century and has been Somerset County Council's residential centre for adult education, the arts and professional development since 1950. Although Dillington House is wholly part of Somerset County Council it operates without public subsidy and is responsible for meeting all of its operating costs and overheads.
Assessed under the English Tourism Council 'campus' Quality Inspection Scheme, Dillington House is the only venue in the country to have been awarded a prestigious 5 stars.
There is ample free car parking across the site. Parking for disabled persons is available in front of the Mews building.
There are excellent facilities for people with disabilities but it is always wise to let us know of any special arrangements so that we can ensure that everything is as good as it can possibly be for your visit.

Great experiences await discovery!
Kingcombe is situated in a surprisingly remote West Dorset valley. Despite its isolation it has been shaped by human activity over millennia.
The neighbouring Kingcombe Meadows Nature Reserve is farmed by the Dorset Wildlife Trust in the traditional way it always has and would be recognisable to farmers who tilled the land hundreds of years ago. The reserve forms part of the largest open access area in West Dorset. Many courses utilise this space from identifying insects to painting the landscape.
